A Pod Called Quest is a podcast taking on everything that people concerned about injustice care about from the wealth gap to voting rights, to police brutality, to reparations, to health and well-being, to climate change, to state repression and much more. Sage and Science want listeners to think with them about problems of injustice, just futures, and evidence-based solutions. Derrick Darby (aka Sage) is a philosopher at Rutgers University. Christian Davenport (aka Science) is a political scientist and sociologist at the University of Michigan. What we do

For three decades we have been in the academic trenches honing our crafts, producing research, and doing the knowledge with students, academics, and audiences around the world.
Derrick (aka Sage) is an analytic philosopher. This means pursuing the best arguments for my beliefs with training I first received from a Jewish philosopher from Brooklyn that escorted Nazi War criminals to justice, and later mastered with a philosophical sensei raised in a New York State insane asylum. Christian (aka Science) is an evidenced-oriented political scientist and sociologist. This means that while the theories investigated come from a variety of sources/inspirations (e.g., nature, history, a dope lyric or some revelation over a long walk), I always use some form of evidence to inform my understanding of the phenomenon of interest. This said, I also don't trust most data or people.
